Cueyo Cataldo

Founder / Construction Director

Cueyo is a First Nations craftsman builder. Committed to improving the way buildings are constructed, he became certified as a 'Sustainable Homes Professional' through Earth Advantage. Cueyo also has hempcrete training and is a technologist with two degrees in Construction Engineering. As a key participant in the Housing Prototype initiative at Elsipogtog First Nation, this immersive involvement provided Cueyo with firsthand insights into the intricacies of constructing housing solutions that align with cultural, sustainability, and functionality imperatives. His experience in balancing design intent with real-world construction demands enrich CedarStone's evaluation process, ensuring that strategies are visionary and feasible within the context of implementation.

Adrienne Fainman

Associate AIA, M.Arch.

CEO / Design Director

Adrienne specializes in organic architecture; harmony between humans and the natural world. A proponent of holistic sustainability, she carries unique experience in planning, biophilic design, and innovative housing solutions. Adrienne has garnered invaluable experience under the mentorship of acclaimed Indigenous Architect, Douglas Cardinal. This collaborative tenure encompassed a spectrum of projects, ranging from community assessments and data analysis to land-use planning and pioneering housing solutions tailored to the unique needs of First Nations communities and communities most affected by climate change. Adrienne holds her Masters of Architecture from the University of Oregon, and a Bachelor of Mathematics and Philosophy from the University of Winnipeg.

We were thrilled with the new ADU in our backyard designed by Adriennen Fainman and built by Cueyo and Frank Cataldo. It was a tricky assignment to design something for a small area that mirrored the aethestics of our current home but they rose to the occasion. They even designed built-in secret door bookcases and dual entrances for privacy or for use as an AirB&B.
